Chieftain's bin type skip trailers are designed as an ideal solution for waste management operators who need to maximise the utilisation of their skip loader fleet. By pairing a skip loader with a bin type trailer, operators can transport additional containers to and from sites without requiring a dedicated transport vehicle, reducing fleet costs and improving operational efficiency.
The 2-axle bin type skip trailer has a gross weight of 19 tonnes and a bed length of 3.7 metres. Standard specification includes ratchet tighteners with chains fitted on the front of the bed for securing loads, six removable bolster posts to secure the bin on the bed, and a chequered steel floor for durability and grip.
Commercial axles with air suspension, WABCO EBS electronic braking with ISO 7638 socket, and load-sensing valves provide the stopping power and control needed for safe road transport of heavy waste containers. A 2-speed adjustable height jack leg at the front supports the trailer during loading and uncoupling operations.
All bin type skip trailers are supplied with EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval certification. Chieftain can custom-build these trailers to suit specific container dimensions, securing arrangements, and operational requirements. Whether the operation handles construction waste, commercial recycling, or general skip hire, the trailer can be configured to match the containers and equipment in use.
