Chieftain's forestry trailer range is purpose-built for the unique challenges of transporting heavy forestry machinery across rough terrain and on public roads. Forestry forwarders and harvesters are among the heaviest and widest machines transported by trailer, and Chieftain's designs account for the specific dimensions, weight distribution, and loading requirements of this equipment.
The standard forestry trailers feature heavy-duty wheel arches, low bed heights, and front and rear loading ramps. The low bed design minimises the overall transport height, which is critical when moving tall forestry machines under bridges and along roads with height restrictions. Heavy-duty wheel arches accommodate the large tyres fitted to the trailer for off-road use and provide clearance for rough terrain.
The fast-tow forestry model is designed for towing behind high-speed tractors and Fastracs, featuring commercial axles and parabolic spring suspension. The stepdeck forestry trailer offers a stepped deck profile that accommodates different machine configurations, providing versatility for operations that transport a variety of forestry equipment.
Chieftain's turntable forestry trailer is built for the transport of forestry machines, especially forwarders and harvesters. The turntable steering mechanism provides excellent manoeuvrability on forest roads and in the confined spaces of timber yards. The jumbo forestry semi-trailer and jumbo low loader are designed for transport by commercial towing vehicles, providing the highest payload capacities in the range.
The low-ride forestry model features a loading height of just 350mm, specifically designed for safely transporting the largest forwarders and harvesters while keeping the overall transport height within legal limits.
