4 Axle Semi Low Loaders

Chieftain’s 4 Axle Semi Low Loader is designed and manufactured for the demanding transportation of heavy plant, construction machinery, access equipment and specialist loads, combining robust construction, excellent manoeuvrability and versatile loading capability in a highly equipped 13.6m trailer.

The trailer features a heavy-duty chassis constructed from high-tensile RHS box section, together with 8mm S355 folded high-tensile steel side chimes. A hard-wearing Keruing hardwood floor provides a durable loading surface suited to intensive plant and machinery transport.

A key feature of the 4 Axle Semi Low Loader is its two self-steering rear axles, providing excellent manoeuvrability when negotiating tight access, restricted sites and demanding road conditions, while also helping to reduce tyre scrub.

Loading flexibility is built into the design. Hydraulic powerslide rear ramps, operated by an electrically driven hydraulic power pack, can be positioned to accommodate different machine track widths. A full-width hydraulic neck ramp provides easy access onto the trailer neck, helping operators make more effective use of the available loading area when transporting plant and equipment.

Swing-down support legs beneath the beavertail provide additional support during loading and unloading, while galvanised telescopic outriggers, outrigger boards and dedicated galvanised storage trays provide additional flexibility when transporting wider machinery.

Heavy-duty commercial running gear includes 10-stud commercial axles with 310 x 190 brakes and automatic slack adjusters, together with air suspension incorporating a raise/lower valve. Dual-line air brakes with WABCO EBS, load sensing and park and shunt valves provide dependable braking performance, while a tyre pressure monitoring system provides additional information to the operator during road use.

Load security has been carefully incorporated throughout the trailer, with lashing rings recessed into both the side chimes and deck to provide multiple secure restraint points while maintaining a clear and practical loading surface.

The trailer is extensively equipped for professional operation, including lockable stainless-steel toolboxes with rubber-sealed doors, twin rear LED flashing strobes, wide marker boards with LED lights, full LED road lighting, galvanised T-bar overrun, spare wheel and a wireless reversing camera with in-cab monitor.

A range of optional equipment allows the trailer to be tailored to individual operating requirements, including a hydraulic flip-toe ramp, ISO twistlocks, fall-arrest system, removable posts, winch, alloy rims and aluminium neck surround.
