Description
Chieftain’s innovative 3 Axle Fast Tow Forestry Trailer is designed and manufactured specifically for the safe transportation of heavy forestry forwarders, harvesters and other specialist forestry machinery. With a 27-tonne gross trailer weight and 10m platform length, it provides the capacity, stability and durability required for demanding forestry applications.
The trailer is fitted with fast-tow commercial running gear, including 10-stud commercial axles, 310 x 190 brakes with automatic slack adjusters, parabolic spring suspension with adjustable torque arms, and combined air and hydraulic braking with load sensing on the air brakes. A sprung drawbar, adjustable hitch and 50mm heavy-duty towing eye provide dependable towing performance.
For loading and securing machinery, the trailer is equipped with 730mm wide manual front and rear ramps, tying points along the chassis legs and an integrated toolbox built into the trailer bed. Practical features also include a removable foot stool beneath the drawbar, a hose pipe holder, mechanical ratchet handbrake and full LED road lighting.
The trailer is supplied on twelve 235/75 R17.5 tyres and finished to Chieftain’s high manufacturing standard, with the trailer fully shot blasted before application of a durable 2-pack primer and paint system for long-lasting corrosion protection.
A wide range of optional equipment allows the trailer to be tailored to individual forestry operations, including rear steer axle, hydraulic rear ramps, telescopic outriggers, air suspension, hydraulic jack leg, LED work lamps and strobes, wide marker boards, spare wheel, 80mm ball towing eye and wireless reversing camera with in-cab monitor.
