3 Metre Rail Trailer

The Chieftain 3m Platform Rail Trailers are compact, multi-purpose rail transport solutions developed for moving machinery, equipment, tools, track materials and ballast efficiently around rail worksites. Their shorter platform design provides excellent versatility where access is restricted or where a more compact trailer is required. They are particularly suited to maintenance, renewal and infrastructure operations where their shorter overall length and smaller bed provide greater practicality and manoeuvrability than a standard platform trailer.

The platform provides a practical load area for carrying small plant, maintenance machinery, tools, rails, sleepers and general track materials. Integrated load-restraint points allow equipment and materials to be securely restrained, while optional loading ramps can be specified to facilitate the loading and unloading of suitable wheeled or tracked machinery.

For ballast and other bulk-material applications, the platform can also be configured to accommodate a removable ballast box, allowing the same trailer to move between equipment transport and material-handling duties. This multi-purpose capability reduces the need for separate specialist trailers and gives rail contractors greater flexibility across different stages of a project.

Front and rear coupling arrangements allow the trailers to operate individually or as part of a multi-trailer rail consist, making them equally suitable for smaller maintenance operations and larger coordinated rail works.
