The Chieftain 6m Platform Rail Trailer extends the versatility of Chieftain's platform rail range with a longer working deck designed for transporting larger machinery, equipment and track materials across rail networks. The additional platform length provides greater flexibility for carrying longer or bulkier loads, making the 6m trailer particularly suited to major rail construction, renewal, maintenance and infrastructure projects where larger volumes of equipment and materials must be moved efficiently along the track.

Its flat platform configuration provides a versatile transport solution for plant and machinery, maintenance equipment, rails, sleepers, tools and other track materials. Multiple load-restraint positions allow loads to be securely restrained while retaining as much usable platform space as possible due to being recessed. Optional loading ramps further increase its machinery-transport capability, allowing suitable wheeled and tracked equipment to be loaded directly onto the platform. This makes the 6m model particularly useful for contractors who require one rail trailer to perform a variety of equipment and material transport duties.

The trailer can also be configured for ballast transport using a removable ballast box secured to the platform. This allows the same chassis to move from machinery and equipment transport to bulk-material handling as project requirements change.
