Description
The Chieftain Container Trailers are strong and practical commercial trailers designed specifically for carrying 20ft ISO containers. Built for operators who require a dependable container transport solution, it is supplied with EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval certification and is suitable for a range of commercial, industrial, storage, site, hire and logistics applications.
With a gross weight of 11.7 tonnes and a standard 6.1m platform length, the trailer is fitted with four ISO twistlocks to accept and secure a 20ft ISO container. These twistlocks allow the container to be safely positioned and locked to the trailer during transport, helping provide a secure and compliant method of moving containerised loads between sites, depots and storage locations.
The trailer is built on commercial axles and fitted with air suspension complete with raise/lower valve, offering smooth and controlled operation when coupling, loading and transporting containers. The braking system includes two-line air with WABCO EBS, along with load sensing, park and shunt valves, spring brakes and automatic slack adjusters for reliable braking performance and safe road use.
A 28mm Keruing hardwood floor provides a hard-wearing platform surface, while recessed lashing rings in the side chimes and on the plafrom add further load-securing flexibility. This makes the trailer practical not only for container transport, but also for selected general flatbed duties when the container is not fitted.
For road visibility and compliance, the trailer includes a 24 volt ISO standard circuit with either 2 x 7 pin or 1 x 15 pin sockets, rear LED lamp clusters, front and side LED marker lights, front and rear outline LED marker lights, rear red triangular reflectors, side amber reflectors and a licence plate holder with light. Red and yellow air susies, electric susies and 24V EBS susies are also supplied as standard.
The Chieftain Container Trailer is finished with practical operator-focused features including a 410mm high fixed headboard, stainless steel toolboxes, two-speed adjustable height jacking leg with handle, bolt-on spray suppression mud flaps behind each wheel and sideguards fitted under the side raves. Safety labels and conspicuity high-visibility tape are fitted to the rear and sides of the trailer, while the chassis is finished in a durable 2 pack primer and paint system.
Optional extras are available to suit different operating requirements, including various deck lengths, rear reversing camera with monitor, LED flashing strobes, LED worklamps, additional stainless steel toolbox, front and rear wide marker boards with LED lights, and fall arrest posts and straps.
Strong, compliant and easy to operate, the Chieftain Container Trailer is an ideal solution for businesses transporting 20ft ISO containers safely and efficiently across commercial, industrial and site-based environments.
Manufactured in Northern Ireland with ECWVTA approval, the Chieftain Container Trailer can be supplied to customers throughout Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the wider European Union.
