Description
The Tarmac Spec Drawbar Low Loader is a specialist heavy-duty trailer designed for the road surfacing and civil engineering sectors while being compliant with EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval certification. Built for transporting asphalt pavers, road planers and other heavy tarmac machinery, this model offers the strength, stability and practical loading features required for demanding day to day site work.
The trailer has a gross weight of 25 tonnes and a standard platform length of 6.1m plus a 1.5m beavertail, giving a total loading length of 7.6m. The 28mm Keruing hardwood floor provides a durable platform for heavy tracked and wheeled machinery, while recessed lashing rings in the side chimes and on the deck allow pavers, planers and other plant to be securely restrained during transport.
A key feature of this trailer is the 900mm wide hydraulic double flip ramps, powered by an electric over hydraulic power pack. These heavy-duty flip-toe ramps are designed to provide a strong and stable loading angle for large surfacing machines, making them particularly suitable for asphalt pavers and road planers. Swing-down support legs under the beavertail provide added stability when loading and unloading heavier equipment.
The trailer can be specified with conveyor stands to safely carry and support the front conveyor of a road planer during transport. This makes it especially practical for operators moving planers between jobs, helping to keep the conveyor secure and properly positioned while the machine is in transit.
The Tarmac Spec Drawbar Low Loader is fitted with commercial axles, air suspension with raise/lower valve and a front lift axle. The two-line air braking system includes WABCO EBS, load sensing valve, park and shunt valves, spring brakes and automatic slack adjusters, providing reliable braking performance and safe road operation.
For visibility and road compliance, the trailer includes a 24 volt ISO standard electrical circuit with either 2 x 7 pin or 1 x 15 pin sockets, Full LED lights including rear lamp clusters, front and side marker lights, front and rear outline marker lights and rear red triangular reflectors, side amber reflectors and a registration plate holder with light. Red and yellow air susies, electric susies and 24V EBS susies are also supplied as standard.
Practical standard features include a 410mm high fixed headboard, lockable stainless steel toolboxes, two-speed adjustable height jacking leg with handle, bolt-on spray suppression mud flaps behind each wheel, sideguards under the side chimes, safety labels and conspicuity high-visibility tape fitted to the rear and sides of the trailer.
Optional extras are available to tailor the trailer to individual operator requirements, including various platform lengths, telescopic drawbar, galvanised pull-out outriggers, outrigger boards with galvanised storage trays, air-locked rear steer axle, rear reversing camera with monitor, LED flashing strobes, LED worklamps, front and rear wide marker boards with LED lights, ISO twistlocks, and fall arrest posts and straps.
Strong, compliant and purpose-built for the surfacing industry, the Tarmac Spec Drawbar Low Loader is an ideal choice for contractors transporting asphalt pavers, road planers and heavy road construction machinery between sites. Manufactured in Northern Ireland with ECWVTA approval, it can be supplied to customers throughout Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the wider European Union.
